BOOKABOO KICKS OFF WORLD TOUR IN CANADA!

So finally, after begging blogs and puppy whining tweets of ‘More Bookaboo Please!’ we’re back in production!  Only this time, we’ve begun, what I hope is just the start of an amazing Bookaboo World Tour. First stop is Canada!   And then…..  I’ll be keeping you posted! But for those in Australia (where it has just topped the ratings charts) and other countries shouting,“But why not here?”“Why not us?”Well, quite honestly, because Canada or rather CBC asked first!  It really was as simple as…See More

FOR ONE OF THE MOST MOVING BOOKS ON BOOKABOO, A MOST SENSITIVE CELEBRITY GUEST

‘Mum and Dad Glue’ by Kes Gray and Lee Wildish has to be one of the most moving books I’ve looked at for Bookaboo.

This evocative and sensitively told tale finds a little boy and his constant companion a small ginger cat, seeking to find a pot of parent glue to stick…

THROWIN' OUT THE RHYMES WITH LETHAL BIZZLE IN SUPPORT OF BOOKABOO'S 'SHARE A BOOK TODAY' CAMPAIGN

I strive not to go for the obvious when it comes to choosing inspiring celebrity guests for Bookaboo.  It would be all too easy just to solely invite a steady stream of brilliant actors to use their very appropriate talent to share picture books with the world's most…

'THE SPIDER AND THE FLY', a cautionary tale. Should all picture books have happy endings?

Emilia Fox shares 'The Spider and The Fly' with Bookaboo

Most people, including me, only ever know the first line or perhaps the first verse of this 173 year old cautionary tale:

"Will you…

Thanks Lucy - a truly great series you've created. My 20 month old loves rocking out to the theme already (after only seeing 2 episodes!).  He keeps asking for the puppy and tries to kiss the TV screen!

My favourite Aussie Picture Book that I've bought my son is 'White Fellas are like Traffic Lights' by Harry Reade.  I grew up in Darwin, so it's a very 'australian' book for me.

Keep up the great series -can't wait until the merchandising starts!! We'll be lining up for our cuddly Bookaboo and Bookaboo bag.

Thank for your comment Lucy. My interest in your site is linked to my love of children's books, in particular high quality picture books. I was pleased to see that there is a programme where books are read to children, it reminds me of rushing home to listen to and watch Jackanory. Although I did not view the first series I will be making an effort to see the next one. Do you have any plans to make use of books written and published in other parts of the world for example Australia has produced some good authors / illustrators. What about books published on the continent?
